We work with a wide range of gas turbine models—heavy-duty and aeroderivative—from manufacturers such as GE, Pratt & Whitney, IHI. Whether you’re operating in power generation, propulsion or Oil and gas, our goal is to maximize your asset availability and lifecycle value.
Engineers at MFS have developed their skills by extensive training and experience over the years. We strongly believe in a combination of theoretical training and training on the job. This is exactly how we educate our team. All engineers receive training at the MFS facility before going into the field. Additional training will be given in order to develop their skills and encourage their interest. Senior engineers are always available to support and guide engineers at sites if necessary.
With a commitment to safety, quality, and service excellence, we bring the workshop to your site—delivering results you can trust.
Workshop Service
MFS has developed a workshop with all the required equipment and tooling. Our dedicated workshop services provide comprehensive support for the total scope of supply for the gas turbine. This includes; components, ensuring peak performance, extended service life and reduced downtime. With advanced tooling, precision equipment and a team of experienced technicians and engineers, we offer high-quality inspection, repair and overhaul services tailored to both heavy-duty and aeroderivative gas turbines.
We offer in-house module repairs in cooperation with the approved repair vendors. For example; combustors, oil pumps, actuators, starters, frames, blades, nozzles, gearboxes and many more. All using OEM materials and OEM guidelines. The repair, inspection and overhaul services are not limited to the gas turbine only. The most common auxiliary equipment of the gas turbine package can as well be serviced for inspection, overhaul and testing.
MFS customers prefer the convenience of our rotable exchange parts, such as; VSV controllers, actuators, starters, nozzles, blades, pumps and more to minimize your downtime. Therefore we have repaired items on the shelve or we service it directly for you.
Our workshop capabilities include:
Incoming Inspection
The incoming inspection of a gas turbine is a vital quality control step carried out upon delivery. It involves checking the turbine and its components for any transport damage, verifying that all parts match the order and specifications and reviewing the accompanying documentation. Inspectors also assess preservation conditions, perform visual and dimensional checks and ensure readiness for storage or disassembly.
Disassembly into modules and disassembly into piece parts
In our module area the machine is disassembled into modules and the modules into piece part level.
Cleaning & Inspection
Disassembly, and detailed inspection of critical components such as rotors, blades, vanes, combustors, and casings. In our inspection area, the inspector inspects the gas turbine parts in accordance with the applicable inspection methods and criteria, such as visual inspection, measurements and NDT inspection (Non-destructive testing such as dye penetrant, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle inspections).
In the MFS cleaning area, the gas turbine parts are thoroughly cleaned before detailed inspection. Each part has a different cleaning procedure and requires different equipment. This is why we have developed a specialized cleaning area with special machinery such as an ultrasonic cleaner, a dry-ice cleaner, a rotary vibrator, blast machines (dry- and wet). And of course we also have the old fashion manual cleaning.
Component refurbishment, including crack repair, dimensional restoration, coating application, and balancing. Our workshop is equipped with balancing machines which are able to handle rotors between 30 kg and up to a maximum weight of 12 Tons.
Precision machining and welding performed in accordance with OEM guidelines and international standards.
Rotor overhauls: Various rotors are disassembled in our rotor stacking area, the individual parts will be sent for cleaning, inspection, grinding and finally reassembled in accordance with the OEM standards and specifications.
In our module area we rebuild frames, casings and gearboxes.
Module build & Final assembly
After steps 1 to 3 have been carried out, all modules are rebuilt and processed through to the final build area. The complete reassembly of the engine is then carried out, with a full quality check and preservation undertaken before the engine is installed into the container for shipping.
All workshop activities are carried out under strict quality control protocols, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards. For the inspection and repair of LM gas turbines we supply the services up to and including level 4 maintenance in cooperation with our partners.
Our goal is to deliver cost-effective, reliable solutions that get your turbine back into operation faster and better than before.
